"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event spotlighting upcoming releases that we readers are eagerly anticipating and is hosted by Breaking the Spine.

Rebel (Reboot #2)
by Amy Tintera

Publication Date: May 13, 2014

From Goodreads:

After coming back from death as Reboots and being trained by HARC as soldiers, Wren and Callum have finally escaped north, where they hope to find a life of freedom. But when they arrive at the Reboot Reservation, it isn't what they expected. Under the rule of a bloodthirsty leader, Micah, the Reboots are about to wage an all-out war on the humans. Although Wren's instincts are telling her to set off into the wilderness on their own and leave the battle far behind, Callum is unwilling to let his human family be murdered. When Micah commits the ultimate betrayal, the choice is made for them. But Micah has also made a fatal mistake . . . he's underestimated Wren and Callum.

The explosive finale to the Reboot duology is full of riveting action and steamy love scenes as Wren and Callum become rebels against their own kind.

May 2014 Releases

Finally! It's May! There's one book on this month's list that I've literally been waiting on for the past two years. Can you guess which one? Anyways, this month's list is notably shorter than last month. Which is good, because I need time to catch my breath.

Rebel (Reboot #2) by Amy Tintera

Why -> I LOVED the first book, Reboot. Such a great concept and execution. I can't wait for this final book to come out and find out what happens with Wren and Callum. And I'm hoping Amy Tintera will come back to Austin, so I can have both books signed by her!

After the End (After the End #2) by Amy Plum

Why -> What if you spent your entire life living off the land in the Alaskan wilderness being told that the world was ravaged by nuclear radiation after World War III and found out one day that it was all a lie? OMG, I have to have this book.

The One (The Selection #3) by Kiera Cass

Why -> I read the first book, The Selection, on the recommendation from a friend of my daughter's. I loved it. I have yet to read the second book mostly because I just haven't gotten around to reading it and I was a little disappointed that this particular friend of my daughter's didn't like the second book as much as the first. I'm hoping, though, that all is redeemed with this final installment. I really really liked Maxon after the first book and I can't help but hope that he chooses America. Of course, I haven't read the second book so I have no idea what could happen.

The Warrior (Dante Walker #3) by Victoria Scott

Why -> Um, yeah we'll go with hot covers on this one. I actually already have the first two books on my Kindle, just waiting on this one. I can't wait to read them. Especially since I keep seeing mentions of how hot and amazing Dante is. He might be my new book boyfriend after I read it. Right now it's Four, and before that it was Jace Wayland. lol

The Eighth Guardian by Meredith McCardle

Why -> Amanda and her boyfriend, Abe, plan to graduate at the end of their senior year and join the CIA together. But when their junior year testing results come in and Amanda is chosen to join the secret government group called the Annum Guard she is forced to make a life altering decision. If she agrees to become the eighth guardian she will have to say goodbye to not only her name, but her family and friends, including Abe. Can she trust a secret government organization that travels back in time to alter history with her life?

Dangerous Creatures (Dangerous Creatures #1) by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

Why -> Guys, I'm horrible about telling myself I can read the books I own any time I want, so I check books out from the library instead. I really need to read the rest of the Caster Chronicles before I read this new book in this spin off series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I read Beautiful Creatures after my parents got the book signed by both authors at the Texas Book Festival one year. I now own all four books in the series signed by both authors! They are on the list to read this year and it's a good thing, because I really want to read this spin off centered on Ridley and Link.

End Times by Anna Schumacher

Why -> This book gets an extra point from me just because it's set in Wyoming. I spent a bit of time there at my grandparents when I was little and it's where I was born. So yay for Wyoming being a setting! Plus, I like the idea of a girl finding herself in the midst of a strange town where everyone believes the end times are coming, and when strange things happen to support their claims maybe she can't keep her head down and ignore it anymore.

Mortal Enchantment by Stacey O'Neale

Why -> I read the prequel novella from Rowan's POV, The Shadow Prince, recently, and wow! Talk about a serious teaser for the main piece. I can't wait to see what happens with Kalin and Rowan. Not to mention I really liked Rowan's character from the novella. I'm excited to see Kalin's perspective on things.

City of Heavenly Fire (The Mortal Instruments #6) by Cassandra Clare

Why -> After reading the first three books in The Mortal Instrument series I should have known better than to read the fourth book as soon as it came out, and then to read the fifth book as soon as it released. But to leave me hanging from May of 2012 to this May? That is just plain cruel and unusual punishment. I say that, but I think I understand why. If you have read the first five books in the series, but not The Infernal Devices trilogy, you NEED to read it first. I think that is why they held off on this book for so long. At least my theory is that players from that trilogy come into play again in this final TMI book. And, I can't wait for the next books! Yes, there will be more shadow hunter books. In 2015 the first book in The Dark Artifices trilogy comes out. Then The Last Hours will have three books and the first book releases in 2017.  And another trilogy The Wicked Powers still doesn't have a release date for the first book. I'm on shadow hunter overload!

What books are you excited for in May? Did I miss any big ones?

At sixteen she will leave the life she's built with her mortal mother. Kalin will move to Avalon to rule with her father—the elemental king of the air court. Along the way, she's attacked by a fire court assassin and saved by Rowan, a swoon-worthy elemental with a questionable past.

Worst of all, she learns her father is missing.

To rescue him, Kalin will have to work with a judgmental council and a system of courts too busy accusing each other of deceit to actually be able to help her. But, they aren’t her biggest challenge. With the Midwinter’s Ball only five days away, Kalin must take over her father’s duties, which includes shifting control of the elements—power Kalin has yet to realize.

As Rowan attempts to train her, a war looms between the four courts. If Kalin fails, her father will die and the courts will fall, but the betrayal she’s about to uncover may cost her even more...

The Devil's Temptation Blog Tour!!!

The Devil's Triangle by Toni De Palma
Published by: Crescent Moon Press
Release Date: March 14, 2014

Fighting the Devil brought Cooper and Grace together. But without a little evil to spice things up, the everyday life of a normal teenager is pretty dull. A summer job crewing on a billionaire’s yacht in sunny Italy might be just the ticket to rekindle passion. While the setting is perfect, the winding, sinister back streets of Naples are also the perfect playground for a scorned Lucifer to wreak havoc. And if evil doesn’t rip them apart, the sultry billionaire’s daughter and the sexy First Officer might be what it takes to finally destroy Cooper and Grace’s love forever.

Aah this book! Poor Cooper and Grace, I mean haven't they been through enough already? Apparently Lucifer and his sister Lucy might not quite be done with them. Or maybe Cooper and Grace just aren't meant to be? This book kept me guessing throughout whether Lucifer or Lucy, or both really were messing with Cooper and Grace. At times I thought that maybe Cooper really was just loosing it and the stress of all he and Grace had previously dealt with in the first book, The Devil's Triangle, had finally caused him to crack. And at other times I thought it was just a crappy situation that had gotten out of hand sucking Grace and Cooper right down with it. You never know when Grace and Cooper are in the midst.

And the twists. It seems I was really off in most of my predictions. I'd say I hate that, but I really don't. What it really tells me is that Toni De Palma did an excellent job at making me guess. I did not see the ending coming the way it did. Honestly, I loved reading this book! It is an excellent follow up and did not fall short in my expectations at all. I really hope there will be another book in this series. Not that I really want Toni to torture poor Cooper and Grace any more than necessary, but I love reading them!

I highly recommend both books if you haven't read them yet. :-) I can't wait to see what Toni has in store for her readers next.

CAMP FORGET-ME-NOT (Camp Boyfriend #3)
By J.K. Rock
October 7, 2014
Spencer Hill Press

Playing it safe and fitting in may have rocketed Kayla West into the “In” crowd at Camp Juniper Point, but it’s left her lonely. The only person she’s ever been herself with was her former best friend, Nick, an outsider that pushed her to join the most popular girls cabin two years ago. Too bad being a Diva meant pressure to break up with Nick. Of course, Kayla had her reasons, but Nick can never know the real one.

She always thought she'd forget him one day and move on. Until he returns to camp a super-hot Olympian snowboarder. Now, every girl wants him and Nick seems determined to show her what a mistake she made. Or at least, she thought that's what he wanted. But when Nick starts sending her private notes--just like he used to--she wonders what kind of game he's playing. Nick's attention is making it tougher to stay in the background and play in safe, forcing Kayla to make a decision--stay on the sidelines and get overlooked? Or take a chance on trusting Nick and, maybe... herself.
